Growth capital can take many forms and can be provided on a financial or strategic basis, or both. Today, commercial credit is generally not provided to emerging growth and lower middle market companies by banks, but by alternative commercial credit firms, which may be funds, family offices, or specialty lenders. While somewhat more expensive than traditional banks, alternative credit providers provide substantially more credit and are more flexible in structure and terms than traditional banks. We have developed an extensive network of alternative credit providers and assist not only in accessing partners with the right attitude and “fit”, but can assist in structuring and executing these transactions.

We find that structure and the access of optimal capital partners are intertwined and that only those most experienced in the space are capable of providing competent and thoughtful advice and access.
Every company has an ideal client or customer profile, but most have either no ability or a greatly limited ability to access commercial or strategic partners. Additionally, most emerging growth or lower middle market companies are seeking executives or other team members, whether on an executive, board, or advisory level, with a high level of expertise and access. Our Business Development team has extensive access to, and experience in introducing, commercial and strategic partners to clients, and, together with our transaction execution team, in the structuring and execution of these transactions.
We are often engaged by companies which are, perhaps, a bit early to take full advantage of the services we could otherwise render. In these instances, we recommend venture consulting, a lower cost engagement in which we work with companies on an advisory basis to assist in the proper structuring of their business enterprise, employment, intellectual property, and other arrangements. We seek to maximize their ability to access strategic, commercial, capital, and other partners in the future.
